August 5, 2022

The University of Aruba cordially invites you to a book presentation: “Living rich as a student in the Netherlands” which will take place on Monday, August 15th.

Description

This lecture is about how you can live a “rich” student life by living frugally as a student in the Netherlands. You will learn the importance of having a ‘frugal lifestyle’ and how to make a great student budget to help manage your personal finances when studying abroad. You will learn how to define your monthly expenses and how to reduce each expense category. This way you will create room to save money each month and live a good student life with less financial stress. You will also learn how to use the five-bucket strategy which is used to prioritize your money into five buckets each month.

Speaker

Franklin Seute is an international student from Aruba and author of the book ‘Living Rich as a Student in the Netherlands; From Broke to a Frugal Lifestyle’. He came to the Netherlands in 2015 to study Mechatronics engineering at Avans University of Applied Sciences and has written a manual about the financial part of student life during his time in the Netherlands. In his book, he focuses on how important a frugal lifestyle is and explains why it’s important to save money as a student, how to keep track of your income and expenses, a good strategy you can use to set aside money each month for five priorities and how you can earn money as a freelancer. He has helped many international students with their personal finances and works with different organizations to better prepare students for the Netherlands.
