Internship opportunities in Washington DC

September 16, 2024

Want to know all about the student opportunities and scholarships in the Capitol of the United States?

On Monday September 30, 2024, at 9.00 am EST (3.00 pm CEST (NL time), the Minister Plenipotentiary of Aruba in Washington D.C., Mrs. Zulema Erasmus will host a virtual session designed specifically to present opportunities for internships in Washington D.C.

In this session, she will conduct interviews on opportunities, practicalities, and financing for those students who want -or are interested- to do an internship in the D.C. area. An internship in Washington, D.C. provides a unique blend of professional experience, networking opportunities, and cultural enrichment, preparing our students in successful young professionals. Even if students choose to stay and work in D.C. after graduation, we will still have Arubans or individuals with a strong affinity for Aruba in important positions within influential organizations.

After a brief introduction, the session will focus on an interview of Ms. Cassandra de Souza on opportunities at the World Bank, which is followed by a brief Q&A-session. The second round will consist of an interview with Mr. Armando Baltazar for opportunities at the InterAmerican Development Bank, which will also be concluded with a brief Q&A-session. Thirdly, Ms. Maggie Malony will discuss on how The Netherlands-America Foundation can be of (financial) aid, which will, as with the first and second round- be followed by a brief Q&A-session. Finally, the final round will consists of testimonials of young Aruban professionals, concluding by a brief Q&A-session.

This virtual session will be a valuable opportunity for students from Aruba to explore potential career pathways and gain insights into various programs that can support their academic and professional growth, all in a format that is easy to access and engage with.

The event is purposely held at 9AM until 11AM (EDT) so students who are in the Netherlands can also participate at 3PM until 5 PM at local time (CEST). This timing is intended to maximize participation and make a lasting impact.

Students can use the QR-Code to register.
