IIEP introduces its new strategy: Planning education, building the future

February 12, 2018

International Institute for Educational Planning (IIEP) recently shared their 10th Medium-Term Strategy.

“Strengthening the capacity of countries to plan and manage their education systems has always been IIEP’s mission. During this 10th Medium-Term Strategy (MTS), for the period 2018–2021, IIEP will further pursue this role of assisting UNESCO Member States in achieving their educational goals in the context of the Sustainable Development Goals (SDGs) and the new Education 2030 agenda.”

– Suzanne Grant Lewis, Director of IIEP-UNESCO

Over the next four years, it will guide us in supporting Member States in the planning and monitoring of more effective education systems and ensuring that new knowledge is accessible and used by policy-makers and stakeholders.

Our new strategy also reflects the many obstacles currently preventing millions of children from exercising their right to a quality education. As a result, our strategy embraces these five pillars: social inequalities, learning outcomes, education system resilience, governance and accountability and education financing.
